Kobelco Excavator H093 Alarm Troubleshooting: Fuel Level Sensor Fix
The H093 alarm on Kobelco excavators often indicates an issue with the fuel level sensor, commonly known as the "oil floater." Here is a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting and replacing it.
Locating the Sensor

-8 Series: The sensor is located inside the light cover.

-10 Series: Accessible by opening the side door.
Step 1: Diagnostics (Wiring Check)
Before replacing the sensor, check the wiring to rule out electrical faults.
Red Wire: Power supply.
Green Wire: Ground connection.
Use a multimeter to measure if there is power and a clear ground connection. If the wiring is intact, the sensor itself is likely the culprit.
Step 2: Replacing the Fuel Sensor

Important Note: Drain the fuel tank to below half level before starting to prevent fuel leakage.
Remove the light cover/access panel.
Unplug the connector.
Remove the 5 mounting screws.
Install the new sensor. Crucial: Ensure the arrow on the sensor points upwards.
